A breakfast and brunch enquiry checklist
A useful breakfast enquiry tells Fables what the morning needs to achieve, which food interests you and what practical arrangement must be quoted. Bring those details together before comparing headline menu choices. The complete proposal should make the food, people, place, equipment and service responsibilities clear.
Identify the occasion and breakfast attendance
Start with the event date, venue postcode and type of gathering. Explain whether breakfast is a welcome, the main morning meal or a longer brunch. Give the number expected to eat rather than only the total event invitation list. If there are separate preparation groups, shift teams or later arrivals, list their numbers and windows individually. Mark provisional figures clearly and name the organiser responsible for confirming them, so the quotation is not built around an attendance assumption that has already changed.
Name the food selection you want considered
Use the published breakfast range to describe your starting preference: grazing, cereal, pancakes and waffles, a full English, brunch or the listed afternoon tea format. Identify particular foods that matter to the group without treating every item across all menus as an included package. Ask for any proposed combination to be confirmed. Keep the agreed menu with the quote; a photograph, an old screenshot or a broad phrase such as mixed breakfast does not define the final food selection.
Put the whole service on a timetable
Give the requested eating time, expected arrival pattern and the time guests must leave or the room changes use. Include supplier access and clearing windows as separate details. A short office break and a relaxed family brunch can need different arrangements even when the food choice is similar. Ask which service window and format are proposed for your booking. Do not assume a guaranteed serving rate or unlimited availability, and tell Fables if the agenda or the groups using the service change.
Describe the venue and what is already supplied
Explain unloading and the route to the working and serving areas, including steps, lifts, narrow doors or restricted access times. Share the facilities and equipment the venue has confirmed. Ask what the selected menu requires for preparation, supplies and operating space rather than guessing from another event. Include available tables, chairs and eating surfaces. If you are still choosing the venue, distinguish that uncertainty from details already agreed so a provisional proposal is not mistaken for a completed site arrangement.
Separate drinks, equipment and people’s tasks
Say whether you want the juice bar discussed or whether drinks are supplied elsewhere. List any cups, glasses, bowls, plates, cutlery and serving equipment you need confirmed. Explain which jobs require help, including setting out, service where agreed and clearing. Ask for staff and hours to be specified if requested. Compare written proposals using the same scope; a food-only amount and an arrangement including equipment and service do not describe the same booking, even when the menu heading is identical.
Check requirements and the written booking details
Discuss food intolerances before booking and wait for express confirmation of any arrangement. Fables does not cater for food allergies; vegan descriptions and familiar food names do not establish allergy suitability. Record only agreed requirements and portion numbers, without guests’ medical histories. Review the current booking terms, exact menu, service scope and any questions that remain. Keep changes in one dated record and have new arrangements confirmed instead of assuming that an entry on a form changes the accepted proposal automatically.
