Private-party hog roast catering
Start planning your party food with the meal itself: who will eat, when you want to serve and where cooking and serving could take place. Fables’ current hog roast menu explains the food choices; your quote confirms what is agreed for your gathering.
Give the meal its own guest count
If people are arriving at different times, work out which guests you intend to feed at the hog roast. Use that figure in your enquiry and explain any numbers that are still uncertain. Confirm the portions required for pork and for the chosen meat-free alternative rather than treating the alternatives as an unspecified extra.
Read our guest numbers and portions guide while putting the figures together. Tell Fables promptly about changes and ask for the updated arrangements to be confirmed.
Choose the food you want to share
The menu includes a whole free-range pig roasted at your venue, apple sauce, sage and onion stuffing, crackling, bread rolls and wraps. Add three salads or seasonal vegetables and one potato choice from the current menu. Keep your selected accompaniments together in the enquiry so the quote reflects the complete meal.
The meat-free options listed are vegetable and halloumi skewers, with the halloumi omitted for the vegan version, or a BBQ pulled jackfruit bun. Check the full accompaniments when discussing those portions. Butchers’ sausages, chips and sweet potato fries are optional additions to request in the quotation.
Plan the space with your host or venue
For a party at home or at a hired venue, send the location and access details before finalising the catering layout. Discuss where the cooking and serving areas could go and ask Fables to confirm the setup arrangements. The menu lists gazebos for roasting and serving when required; discuss your proposed arrangement as part of the quote.
Hog roast service is a buffet, with chefs carving the meat while staff help serve the accompanying dishes. Consider where guests will collect their meals when deciding how to use the rest of the party space.
Dietary requirements
Fables caters for agreed food intolerances only. We do not cater for food allergies.
Please discuss any food intolerance with us before booking so we can confirm whether we can accommodate it. A request is included only once Fables has expressly confirmed the arrangements; entering it on a form does not confirm acceptance.
Our kitchens and mobile catering units handle allergens, and cross-contact can occur. We provide ingredient and allergen information, but do not guarantee allergen-free food. Vegan options are not necessarily suitable for someone with a food allergy.
Coeliac disease requires separate consideration and must not be treated as an ordinary intolerance request. Do not assume our food is suitable.
Confirm the agreed intolerance requirements and portion numbers on your final booking form, and tell us promptly about any changes. Please do not include guests’ names or medical histories.
Practical questions for the host
Do we need to arrange plates and cutlery?
The menu includes disposable plates, cutlery and napkins. China crockery is available at an extra cost. Tell Fables which you would like so your quotation shows the agreed tableware.
What happens to the catering area afterwards?
After service, we clear our own equipment and food preparation area. Guest waste, bins and venue cleaning remain the client’s or venue’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed with Fables. Settle those responsibilities with your host or venue before the party.
Use our catering quote checklist, then send your date, venue, meal numbers, choices and preferred serving time in a private-party hog roast enquiry.
