Approve the Cake Plan Without Losing Dietary Details

A final cake check should cover both the accepted design and the arrangements people need to follow at the venue. Attractive artwork does not settle a dietary request or correct an outdated serving instruction.

Use the confirmed specification as your reference and keep unresolved questions visible. An entry on a form is a request until Fables expressly confirms the arrangement.

Use the accepted design proof

Check the current proof or specification against the design Fables has accepted. Read the decorative details, wording and practical item list as separate checks so one attractive image does not distract from an omitted requirement.

Record which version you are reviewing. If an earlier design remains in an email or inspiration folder, mark it as superseded in your own planning file. Ask how any requested change will be considered rather than editing the accepted specification silently.

Check names and dates

Read names, dates, punctuation and capitalisation directly from one approved wording source. Compare any topper or decorative text with the wording used on other personalised event items where they repeat the same information.

Ask one lead approver to consolidate feedback. Conflicting comments from several people can make it unclear which wording is intended. Keep the accepted text and the approval record together with the final cake plan.

Keep dietary requests subject to express confirmation

Fables caters for agreed food intolerances only. We do not cater for food allergies. Please discuss any food intolerance with us before booking so we can confirm whether we can accommodate it.

A request is included only once Fables has expressly confirmed the arrangements; entering it on a form does not confirm acceptance. Keep a proposed request separate from the arrangement actually accepted, including the relevant portion numbers and service information.

Preserve the no-food-allergies boundary

Our kitchens and mobile catering units handle allergens, and cross-contact can occur. We provide ingredient and allergen information, but do not guarantee allergen-free food. Vegan options are not necessarily suitable for someone with a food allergy.

Coeliac disease requires separate consideration and must not be treated as an ordinary intolerance request. Do not assume our food is suitable. Confirm the agreed intolerance requirements and portion numbers on your final booking form, and tell us promptly about any changes.

Distribute only necessary service details

Please do not include guests' names or medical histories. Give the relevant service contact only the practical information needed to follow the expressly confirmed arrangement, using accurate provider information rather than labels invented by the organiser.

Check that the venue receives the accepted display, cutting and serving plan as well as the design details. Keep the full Fables cake information available when discussing changes and ask for any uncertainty to be resolved before relying on it.

Your finished planning sheet

  • The current accepted design and proof version.
  • Names, dates and wording checked against one master.
  • Dietary requests distinguished from expressly accepted arrangements.
  • Confirmed intolerance requirements and portion numbers recorded appropriately.
  • Only necessary service details passed to relevant recipients.

Questions to settle

Does approving the design also approve a dietary request?

No. A food intolerance arrangement requires Fables' express confirmation under the full published policy, independently of design approval.
