Wedding canapé catering

Connect your reception food with the rest of your wedding day. Fables’ current canapé selection brings together Asian, Middle Eastern and British choices. Start with the guests who will be present, their arrival time and the meal that follows, then discuss the selection and service you want included in your quote.

Give the reception its own timetable

Tell us when guests are expected to arrive and how long you expect the reception to last. Include the planned time of your next meal and explain any ceremony, photographs or speeches that affect when people will be ready to eat.

If daytime and evening attendance differ, keep the reception number separate from your total wedding guest list. The guest numbers and portions guide helps you prepare the figures for the particular meal or serving period you are discussing.

Choose three canapé items

The current menu lets you mix and match any three items from the Asian, Middle Eastern and British lists. Read the complete item descriptions before choosing: sauces, dips, cheese and other accompaniments form part of the selection.

Prepare one shortlist for your enquiry rather than different versions for different people coordinating the day. Ask Fables to confirm the agreed items and quantity included for your guest numbers.

Discuss how guests receive the food

The menu describes staff serving from small rustic boards and a buffet arrangement on rustic wooden tables. Say which approach you would like to discuss. Staffing, the serving arrangement and any additional charges should be clear in your own quotation.

For a wider comparison, use the catering service styles guide. Tell us whether guests will gather together or use several areas during the reception so the proposed service can be considered alongside the venue plan.

Keep the venue arrangements together

Share the venue postcode, access arrangements, proposed food area and the contact who can confirm the reception layout. Identify any venue restrictions or other suppliers using the same space, rather than assuming the serving point can be placed anywhere.

Ask your quote to set out the agreed food, staffing, equipment and service times. Use the catering quote checklist to gather questions about anything not yet clear.

Dietary requirements

Fables caters for agreed food intolerances only. We do not cater for food allergies.

Please discuss any food intolerance with us before booking so we can confirm whether we can accommodate it. A request is included only once Fables has expressly confirmed the arrangements; entering it on a form does not confirm acceptance.

Our kitchens and mobile catering units handle allergens, and cross-contact can occur. We provide ingredient and allergen information, but do not guarantee allergen-free food. Vegan options are not necessarily suitable for someone with a food allergy.

Coeliac disease requires separate consideration and must not be treated as an ordinary intolerance request. Do not assume our food is suitable.

Confirm the agreed intolerance requirements and portion numbers on your final booking form, and tell us promptly about any changes. Please do not include guests’ names or medical histories.

Prepare your enquiry

Send your wedding date, venue postcode, reception numbers, arrival and meal times, three preferred items and the service you want to discuss. Keep unresolved venue questions with the same brief.
