Wedding hog roast catering

A wedding meal needs a clear place in the day’s plans. Start your hog roast enquiry with the guests you want to feed, the meal’s place in your timetable and the venue. The current hog roast menu sets out the food and service to discuss with Fables.

Fit the meal into your wedding timetable

Tell us whether you are enquiring about your wedding meal or food later in the celebration. Give your preferred serving time and explain what happens immediately before and afterwards, so those details can be considered when agreeing the service.

If your guest list changes during the day, identify which guests will be present for this meal. Keep those numbers separate from the total wedding attendance. Our guest numbers and portions guide helps you prepare the figures for your quote.

Choose the complete meal

The menu centres on a whole free-range pig roasted at your venue, with apple sauce, sage and onion stuffing, crackling, bread rolls and wraps. Choose three salads or seasonal vegetables, plus one potato option.

For meat-free portions, discuss the listed vegetable and halloumi skewers, with halloumi omitted for the vegan version, or the BBQ pulled jackfruit bun. Confirm the complete meal, including its accompaniments, and the number of portions required.

Connect the food plan with your table plan

The hog roast is served as a buffet: chefs carve the meat while staff help serve the accompanying dishes. Discuss where the serving table will sit and how guests will reach it with the person coordinating your venue. Ask Fables to confirm the proposed arrangement before finalising the layout.

The menu includes disposable plates, cutlery and napkins; china crockery is available at an extra cost. Include your preferred tableware in the enquiry so it is reflected in the quote. For wider meal arrangements, read our catering service styles guide.

Dietary requirements

Fables caters for agreed food intolerances only. We do not cater for food allergies.

Please discuss any food intolerance with us before booking so we can confirm whether we can accommodate it. A request is included only once Fables has expressly confirmed the arrangements; entering it on a form does not confirm acceptance.

Our kitchens and mobile catering units handle allergens, and cross-contact can occur. We provide ingredient and allergen information, but do not guarantee allergen-free food. Vegan options are not necessarily suitable for someone with a food allergy.

Coeliac disease requires separate consideration and must not be treated as an ordinary intolerance request. Do not assume our food is suitable.

Confirm the agreed intolerance requirements and portion numbers on your final booking form, and tell us promptly about any changes. Please do not include guests’ names or medical histories.

Questions to settle before booking

What if our timings or guest numbers change?

Tell Fables promptly and ask for confirmation of the revised arrangements. Keep the agreed menu, portion numbers and serving time together so your venue and anyone coordinating the day work from the same details.

Who clears up after the meal?

After service, we clear our own equipment and food preparation area. Guest waste, bins and venue cleaning remain the client’s or venue’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed with Fables.

Send the date, venue, meal time, guest numbers and choices through our wedding hog roast quote form. Your quotation confirms the arrangements and inclusions agreed for your event.
