Corporate event waiting staff

Give the service team the same clear programme as the rest of your business event. Fables’ waiting staff service can be discussed for different food, drink and guest-facing duties. Explain the event, attendance and venue, then identify the work you want included in a quotation.

Connect staffing with the programme

Include guest arrival, registration, presentations, breaks and any meal or drinks reception. Say whether everyone follows the same programme or different groups use the venue at different times. Identify the periods when you expect service support to be needed.

Add any preparation, setup or clearing duties you want considered. Ask Fables to confirm the proposed staff start and finish times against those tasks. A guest arrival time alone does not describe the whole service brief.

Give each duty an owner

The existing service lists waiters, bar staff, food runners and event supervisors as possible roles to discuss. Prepare a task list using the actual food, drink and guest arrangements for this event, rather than relying on a role title to define every responsibility.

Identify work already covered by your venue, caterer or internal event team. For shared food service, the catering service styles guide helps frame questions about serving points, table service and the support proposed around them.

Map the working areas and equipment

Share the room plan, proposed service areas and access arrangements. Explain whether food, drinks and used items move between separate rooms or parts of the building. Name the person who can confirm workplace or venue restrictions.

Record who provides the food, drink, serving pieces and guest tableware. If equipment hire is also needed, discuss the actual pieces and quantities through the vintage crockery page. The staffing quotation should make its own agreed duties clear.

Include the event finish

Say what needs to happen when guest service ends. Clearing plates, moving equipment, packing hired items and returning a room to an agreed condition are different jobs. Ask which tasks are included and which stay with your venue or another provider.

Confirm the named handover contacts and where used items should go. Keep the agreed service plan with the same version of your programme. Use the catering quote checklist to clarify staff hours, responsibilities and equipment before booking.

Prepare your enquiry

Send the event date, venue postcode, attendance, programme, requested duties and the food or drink arrangements already booked. Include preparation and finish tasks, not only guest-facing service. Ask for the current rate, minimum booking period and complete proposed team in your quote.

Request corporate event staff. Fables will check availability and discuss the working brief for your event.
