Compare disco lighting quotes against the same event brief
A lighting package name does not show whether two quotations cover the same request. Use this worksheet after you have described the event and identified what the DJ and venue already provide. It compares the written commercial offers that answer that brief.

Give both offers the same reference point
Write the date or version of the room plan, requested lighting moments and existing-equipment list. Record the venue decision that applies to any proposed effects separately. If one quotation answers an earlier plan, ask for an updated offer before comparing its price with the current one. A quotation can describe a proposed effect while its venue permission remains unresolved.
- Event / area reference
- Brief and room-plan version
- Venue decision reference, if applicable
- Quotation A reference and date
- Quotation B reference and date
Copy scope before comparing price
Use the supplier’s written descriptions. Enter “not stated” when the offer is silent and “excluded” only when an exclusion is explicit. Keep optional items in their own row. Do not turn a blank into an assumed inclusion or use a photograph to identify the equipment that will be supplied.

Resolve differences in the offer they belong to
Send each provider only the questions about its own quotation. Ask which brief version the answer covers and retain the reply with that quotation. For example, a hypothetical offer may explicitly include operator assistance while another does not mention it. The useful next step is to ask what assistance the second offer proposes, rather than assuming that its headline price covers the same work.
A reusable clarification is: “Please confirm whether the quotation referenced above includes [requested item or assistance] for [brief version and dates], and identify any separate cost, exclusion or outstanding condition.” Replace every bracketed detail before using it.
Keep the agreed commercial record
When you choose an arrangement, retain the accepted quotation and clarifications beside the matching event brief. Record later changes against that version. This worksheet compares stated offers; it does not rank unconfirmed packages, establish venue permission or promise an effect, control method or photographic result.
