Fables event planning · Back to standard portable toilet hire
Choose a Proposed Portable Toilet Position
A portable toilet position needs to work for delivery, for guests during the event and for collection afterwards. Choose a proposed area on the complete site plan rather than placing it wherever there happens to be spare ground.
Fables and the venue need to review the actual location. This guide helps you gather the evidence for that discussion; it does not confirm a surface or installation position from a distance.
Start with the whole guest layout
Mark the marquee or main event space, catering area, seating, entertainment and entrances. Draw the route guests would take to the proposed standard units. Ask the venue to review the relationship between those uses rather than judging the toilet position by appearance alone.
Consider where guests will be in the evening as well as at arrival. A location measured from the site entrance may be less convenient from the main gathering area. Use one labelled plan so everyone is discussing the same route and position.
Show the ground and surrounding features
Photograph the proposed area from more than one direction, including the approach. Describe the surface, slope and any soft or uneven ground. Mention nearby boundaries, gates and features that may affect positioning. Ask the supplier what further measurements or information are needed.
Do not assume a position is accepted because a delivery vehicle can reach the general area. The final placement and access arrangements must be discussed for the actual units and site. Keep a preferred alternative as a question rather than an automatic fallback.
Check delivery, servicing and collection together
Trace the vehicle route from the entrance to the proposed position. Explain restrictions, turning space and when the route is available. If servicing is being discussed for a longer hire, ask what access that arrangement requires too.
For collection, check what remains on site and who controls gates or parked vehicles. The outdoor hire guide helps coordinate those facts with other deliveries. Record the accepted position on a dated plan and have changes reviewed before equipment is moved into the area.

- An accepted position, dated plan and named contact for changes.
Questions to settle
Can we keep the toilets out of sight?
Explain your preference, but have the location reviewed for guest use and practical access. Appearance alone should not determine the accepted position.
Can the position change on delivery day?
Discuss how changes will be handled and who can approve an alternative with the provider and venue. Do not assume any spare area is suitable.
