Check Existing Venue Toilets Before Hiring Standard Units

A venue may have toilets without every facility being available to your guests throughout the event. Confirm the actual arrangement before discussing additional standard portable units. Counting facilities on a site visit is less useful than knowing who can use them and when.

Keep the venue’s confirmed information with your hire enquiry so Fables is working from facts rather than an assumption about the building.

Ask what your venue booking makes available

Identify the permanent facilities included in guest access and ask whether they are shared with another booking, venue users or the public. Confirm whether staff and suppliers use the same provision. Record the venue contact who has supplied this information.

Do not assume a facility seen during a tour forms part of your event access. A room or building may belong to a different part of the venue operation. Ask for the arrangement relevant to your date and hours, especially if the site hosts several activities.

Check the full day and evening timetable

Ask when the building opens and closes, which doors guests use and whether access changes after the main meal or daytime programme. Mark any period when the reception continues but the permanent facilities are no longer available.

Walk the route from each guest area, including an evening location if it differs from daytime use. Tell the venue about any access or other practical needs that should be addressed. A permanent facility’s presence does not by itself settle the suitability of the whole guest route.

Share the confirmed picture with the supplier

Summarise the available facilities, hours, shared use and guest approach in the standard portable toilet enquiry. Add the attendance pattern and hire period. Ask Fables to review proposed additional arrangements against that complete picture, without applying a unit ratio from an unrelated event.

Keep particular facility requirements separate and explicit. The published hire service covers standard portable toilets only. Use the portable toilet planning article to connect the permanent provision with delivery, positioning and servicing questions.

Your finished planning sheet

  • Which permanent facilities are actually included in guest access.
  • Their opening hours, entrances and any shared use.
  • The route from every guest area across the event timetable.
  • A dated venue confirmation and unresolved practical questions.

Questions to settle

Should we include staff and suppliers in the discussion?

Explain who will use the facilities and ask the venue about their arrangements. The enquiry should describe actual use rather than assume only invited guests are relevant.

If the venue has toilets, do we still need portable units?

That depends on the event and confirmed venue provision. Give Fables the full facts and ask about the proposed arrangement; this guide does not determine a quantity for an unseen site.
