Choose a menu around the meal you are planning
Begin with the role of the food, the way guests will eat and the practical setting, then compare the actual menus and inclusions.
Decide what the food needs to do
A menu for arrival bites has a different role from the main meal or evening food. Write down when guests will eat, the number at that service and any other food already planned. This helps you compare choices without treating every option as an interchangeable package.
For a lighter reception, explore canapés or afternoon tea. For a shared meal, look at buffets and grazing. The street food, pizza, BBQ and hog roast sections describe other food and serving options to discuss for the occasion.
Discuss agreed alternatives before booking
Tell Fables how many vegetarian or vegan portions you want to discuss. Fables caters for expressly agreed food intolerances only, not food allergies. Kitchens and mobile units handle allergens and cross-contact can occur, so the food is not guaranteed allergen-free.
A vegan or vegetarian label does not establish allergy suitability. Discuss an intolerance before booking and rely only on arrangements expressly confirmed by Fables. Confirm portion numbers without sending guests’ names or medical histories.
Settle the selection and service in writing
Bring the venue details, serving time and equipment or staff requests into the menu discussion. Ask the quote to identify the food, quantities, service window, tableware and any additions you want. A display photograph does not establish an item’s inclusion.
If you want another course, dessert point or different food later in the event, describe the complete plan. Fables will check availability and agree the separate provisions. Keep the accepted choices together when completing the final booking form.
Questions before you book.
Do all menus have a published starting price?
No. Some pages list published figures and conditions, while other menus are tailored by quotation. Use the relevant page and ask Fables to confirm the complete arrangement and price.
Can you accommodate food allergies or intolerances?
Fables caters for agreed food intolerances only. We do not cater for food allergies.
Please discuss any food intolerance with us before booking so we can confirm whether we can accommodate it. A request is included only once Fables has expressly confirmed the arrangements; entering it on a form does not confirm acceptance.
Our kitchens and mobile catering units handle allergens, and cross-contact can occur. We provide ingredient and allergen information, but do not guarantee allergen-free food. Vegan options are not necessarily suitable for someone with a food allergy.
Coeliac disease requires separate consideration and must not be treated as an ordinary intolerance request. Do not assume our food is suitable.
Confirm the agreed intolerance requirements and portion numbers on your final booking form, and tell us promptly about any changes. Please do not include guests’ names or medical histories.
