A useful BBQ catering enquiry explains the event as well as the food. You do not need every detail finalised, but the date, venue, guest numbers and preferred menu give Fables a clear starting point. Keep confirmed details separate from estimates so the quote can reflect the plan you are actually considering.

Start with the date and location
Include the event date and the venue postcode. If you have not chosen a venue, give the likely area and explain that it is still provisional. Tell us whether the event is a wedding, corporate gathering or private party, and whether the BBQ is intended as the main meal or another part of the food plan.
An approximate serving time is useful even when the timetable is not finished. Add any fixed access, setup or venue timings that could affect the arrangement. For a company event, note different groups or shifts if they are expected to eat at different times; do not leave the catering team to infer that from the total attendance.
Give a catering guest count
State how many people you want this service to feed, rather than only the number invited to the whole event. If the total is an estimate, say so. Include the vegetarian and vegan portion numbers you know about and the stage at which your event attendance will be confirmed.
Discuss food intolerance requests before booking so Fables can confirm whether they can be accommodated. Fables does not cater for food allergies. There is no need to send guest names or medical histories; explain the requested food arrangements and portion numbers instead. Entering a request on a form does not by itself confirm acceptance.
Name the menu you are considering
Use Fable 1, Fable 2 or Fable 3 if one of those published menus suits your event, and list your preferred dishes and salads. Alternatively, say that you are considering the separate BBQ Street Food Menu and its four menu choices. This distinction helps avoid mixing different prices, portions or inclusions.
If you would like sides, desserts or another service, include it as a requested extra. The street food menu lists sides at £3 per person extra and a choice of one dessert at £3 per person extra. Those headings do not establish a base street food price or mean the extras are automatically included with a Fable menu.
Finish with the practical questions
Explain where the food will be served and mention access, cooking, power or setup restrictions. If there is a venue plan, identify the proposed operating position and the correct entrance. Include waiting staff, table clearing or event hire you want priced, so these can be considered expressly rather than assumed.
Sending the enquiry does not reserve the date. Fables checks availability and prepares a personalised quotation for the menu, guest numbers, location and service. Keep later changes in the same email conversation where possible, and ask for the revised arrangements to be confirmed before treating them as part of the booking.
Your BBQ catering questions.
Can we enquire before the final guest count is known?
Yes. Give your current estimate and make clear that it is provisional. Your written quotation and booking documents confirm the arrangements and the deadlines for final information and payment.
