Choose the experience before the name

Photo booth names can describe an output, a style of setup or a particular piece of equipment. A 360 video experience, an unenclosed photo station and a retro-looking booth answer different questions. Tell Fables what you want guests to do and receive, as well as the name of a type you have seen.

Begin with still photographs or video, then think about how people will take part: approaching a station, stepping into a contained booth or participating in a roaming experience. Bring the event schedule and proposed location into the decision so the format works with your plans.

A quick way to narrow your choice

Separate three decisions: what guests receive, how they take part and how the equipment looks. A selfie pod can form part of an open-air setup; a retro appearance does not tell you whether the result is printed or digital. These categories can overlap.

  • Choose still photographs when the priority is a posed picture of friends, couples or family groups. Compare the Magic Mirror, selfie pod and other still-photo arrangements on that basis.
  • Choose a 360 video booth when the movement is part of the memory. A clip made by a camera moving around guests is a different result from a traditional photo strip or portrait.
  • Choose an open setup when you want the photo activity visible within the celebration. The background and the space for guests to gather are part of the picture.
  • Compare enclosed booths when guests would enjoy stepping into a contained photo area. Check the actual entrance and group arrangement for the people who will use it.
  • Consider a roaming format when bringing the photo experience around the event is part of the brief. Plan which areas and moments it should cover rather than only selecting a fixed booth position.
  • Treat retro or vintage styling as an appearance choice. Match it with the capture method and finished output you want before choosing the package.

Roaming, retro and other requested styles

The guides are a starting point, not a closed catalogue. Ask about a roaming booth experience, a retro or vintage-style appearance, or another format you have in mind. Describe the style, the intended guest activity and any output requirements so the team can discuss the booking.

Some names describe how equipment looks rather than how it captures or delivers pictures. Include any particular printing, sharing, branding, props, appearance or assistance requirements in the brief. Confirm the agreed equipment and services in the quotation instead of transferring the inclusions from one type to another.

Compare the complete event plan

Discuss the setup position, access route and guest approach with your venue. Fables will confirm the requirements for the specific equipment. Share the date, postcode, approximate attendance and preferred operating times, including any room changeover or delivery restrictions.

The current Magic Mirror offer starts at £250 for 2 hours, with 2, 3 and 4-hour options and its published props, red carpet and paperless QR-photo package. These details apply to the Magic Mirror. Request the price, operating window and inclusions for any other type.

The client must arrange suitable electricity at the agreed setup location and time, plus working Wi-Fi at the operating location with necessary login details. If a supply is unavailable, raise it early. Own power can be quoted separately but does not provide Wi-Fi.

Good questions before booking

Your photo booth questions.

Can Fables provide a type not listed in these guides?

Fables offers all photo booth types. Describe the format, style or experience you have in mind, including any particular requirements, so the team can confirm the equipment and quotation.

Which type is best for our event?

Start with the photo or video output, the way guests will take part, the location and your timetable. Share the priorities in your enquiry so the team can discuss the appropriate format.

Do the same price and inclusions apply to every type?

No. The published Magic Mirror starting price and package belong to that offer. Confirm another type’s equipment, hours, output and inclusions in its quotation.
